Scalable warehouse concept for maximum performance
To optimise processes and enhance space capacity, the Schumacher Group decided to build a new warehouse complex in Würselen. The ideal foundation for sustained company growth: a scalable mobile racking system and a robust lithium-ion fleet of around 80 trucks.
Challenges
- Handling high throughput volumes of up to 800,000 pallets per year
- Optimisation of process flows and pallet handling to minimise long transport distances

- New-build warehouse with expansion of the existing mobile racking system to accommodate a total of 73,000 pallet storage locations
- Two ETV 216i lithium-ion reach trucks and three ERD 220i lithium-ion stacker trucks
- Integration of space-optimised material handling equipment for the efficient integration of order picking
- Space-saving and cost-efficient battery and charging technology, with easily accessible charging stations
